I firstly purchased the Samsung LE22A457 but had to return this due to bad backlight leakage. I am pleased to say I should have gone with my original instinct and purchased this set in the first place! It is a lovely looking TV and I need to disagree with the review saying the sound is tinny – compared to the 22″ 457 it is a marked improvement and much better than other 22″ TV’s I listened to in a local retailer. For a TV which most people will use in a second room it does the job well. We purchased this for the bedroom to view Sky TV sent via RF from the Lounge input so I cannot comment on the freeview tuner/features, but the picture quality I receive from the Sky box is very good. One thing to note – if you are looking at HD Ready 22″ TV’s be careful of the resolution you choose. This TV has a resolution of 1366 x 768 which is perfect 16:9 ratio. Many other sets (including the A457 I purchased before) offer 1680 x 1050. Whilst on paper this looks better it does not give a true 16:9 ratio and the picture has be be stretched vertically to fill the screen meaning some images can look distorted. You can always run it in 16:9 mode but this will result in black bars top and bottom of the screen, something I certainly don’t want on all my normal broadcast TV! All in all very happy with the TV purchase and would recommend it.
This TV was very easy to install and use. The quality of the picture is excellent. The sound is a little tinny (as others have commented) but better if set to ‘Movie’. I would thoroughly recommend it.

LCD television with freeview
An excelent product. Quick and easy to install. No problem with affixing stand. instructions very clear . Good Quality picture and sound.
I decided to buy the Samsung LE22B450C4 after living with an old portable tv for too long! The Samsung is very aesthetically pleasing, and is very stylish. I’m awful for not reading instruction manuals, and skipping to set up, so luckily this TV is very user friendly. All it requires is having the power lead plugged in. When you turn it on, it guides you through the set up of channels etc. This took only a few minutes, and found all of the channels available on freeview with no gaps. To begin with, I found the picture to be slightly pixelated, but this may be due to how close I was sitting when setting up. I’m sure that there are settings to play around with, but I’ve not quite discovered these yet
Soundwise. . . . personally I find the sound really good, but this may be because I’m used to the portable tv.
The remote control has lots of buttons, but is clearly labelled, and I’m sure it’ll be easy enough to get used to.
After setting up the television, I noticed lots of finger marks from where I’d been moving it. Luckily the clever people at Samsung have taken this into consideration and provide a cloth which removed them immediately!
I’m really pleased with the TV. It’s stylish, and has a good quality picture and sound for the price.
